Christine and I worked together at Out & About where she showed tremendous passion for disabled young people. Her commitment to helping others was inspiring, her enthusiasm infectious and her energy seemed limitless! Christine applied originality and character to everything she did. When we decided to open a cafe in Ipswich, Christine seemed to revel in being able to combine her passion for young people with her love of cooking. The Infobar (on Fore St) was always heavy with the tempting aroma of whatever "special" Christine had created with the young people that day, often from the most random combination of ingredients and always on a limited budget. Christine never accepted any praise for a job well done; there was always someone else, a young person or colleague, that she was quick to deflect the credit to. She may no longer be with us, but I have no doubt that her kindness will continue to impact in the lives of the many disabled young people who called her their friend.
